Fire fighting and evacuation intercom system including Fire Command Room at 30 Gresham Street, London
This project was under the auspices of the chief fire officer for the City of London and had numerous safety requirements that needed to interface with the other building systems.
To achieve this we installed a two wire bus intercom system to 4 Fire Fighting lifts, incorporated into the firefighting function was additional communication points in the lift motoroom, fire command room and security control room. Complying with BS EN81-28, BS EN81-70 BS EN81-72.
The evacuation intercom consisted of main controls at the chosen evacuation floor, every refuge point at every landing, the machine room and the fire command room.
This system enabled the client to incorporate the evacuation intercom into his evacuation plans and then the fire officers could then coordinate fire-fighting from either the fire command room or at each lift.
